We care about each and every one of our dancers and want the best for them and their teams.

The placements are absolutely FINAL!!!

Thank you for trusting us in our expertise of knowing where dancers should be placed. Last year was an amazing success and our same instructors placed the dancers this year!

There are many, many aspects that go into placing each and every dancer. Remember to look who else is on your team as well, it was not a big moving year this year, we had a LOT of returners!

We appreciate your understanding that as their teachers (and very experienced dancers ourselves) we know best where to place them!

We are so excited to start a NEW SEASON!!! Tryouts will be held at the studio this year, located at 6200 S. and Bangerter Highway (on the west side of Bangerter, next to 7-11). Its in the middle doors of the brand new strip mall.

***This week is BRING YOUR FRIEND TO DANCE week. Each girl can bring a friend to any of their classes to dance with them. All classes will be open and doing fun, upbeat stuff! This is May 18th-21st. If a friend ends up joining in Summer or Fall you can get some great deals! (Srs and Jrs may not bring a friend Monday, May 18th to the combined extra practice that is from 6:30PM-8:15PM)

***There is NO class on Memorial Day, which is Monday, May 25th.

***We are doing a huge TEAM BBQ. This means every girl and their family that is on Tiny's,X1,X2,X3,X4, JRS,SRS,Xpress,PeeWees,Xtremes,AllStars,Jr Xcess or Xcess are invited to come! It will be Saturday, May 30th at 12:30PM-2:30PM located at 2880 W. Ivory Way (6480S). We will be having some yummy food and each Meal Ticket will be $3.00. You can purchase this from your teacher at class. We will not be doing individual team parties this year so please try to com. The last day to purchase BBQ Tickets is May 27th.

***The Year End Show is coming up! Thursday May 28th and Friday May 29th at Taylorsville High School on 5400 S. and Redwood Road. Both shows starts at 6:30PM and its FREE so invite everyone you know!

***COMBO,TUMBLING and HIP-HOP CLASSES (not HipHop teams.) You will be doing the FINALE. Please make sure you come to the EXTRA practice. 1st Show Dancer's Extra Practice is Wednesday, May 27th at 6:15-7:15PM. 2nd Show Dancer's Extra Practice is also Wednesday, May 27th at 7:15PM-8:15PM! The extra practice is split into two practices depending on the show you are in. Please ask your teacher if you are not sure which one you come to.

TRYOUTs:
Don't forget tryouts are June 11th for Tiny's, June 12th for HipHop or June 13th for any other team. Times vary depending on what you are trying out for.

Summer Classes:
Begin Monday, June 22nd! For clarification; if you make a team you are required to take ONE three week SESSION. Only ONE. That means we are only asking for you to give up THREE weeks of your time and you will be done. ONE three week session is only $140.00 for UNLIMITED classes. The point is to take EVERYTHING you can in those three weeks. You can come to ANY of the classes. Try easier or harder classes or maybe even something you have NEVER done before. We want the girls to be well-rounded dancers and $140.00 is a GREAT DEAL if you take advantage of taking all that's available. Tiny's and Mini's are not required to take the Unlimited Session but are welcome too...and they can come to ballet, cheer, hip-hop. With the summer sessions MOTHERS are able to take classes as well. There will be Zumba, Pilates and a Cardio Class offered. Teachers and several moms are planning to attend, so please come join in on the FUN!

***California Girls
Will be having ANOTHER Car Wash Saturday, May 23rd at 3200 W. and 7800 S. in the Checker Auto Parking Lot. Please come support them between 9:00AM-3:00PM. These girls have been working SO HARD to earn their way to California. They leave June 14th! They are running out of time and your $5.00 will be a HUGE HELP!!!

California Update - Girls should have paid their hotel on April 22nd. Transportation should be paid on Wednesday, May 20th and its $70.00 per person. Disneyland must be paid by Saturday, May 30th and the cost is $104.00. PLEASE get these things paid!!!

Year End Revue is May 28th and 29th! All combo classes and teams Tiny's through X-4 will be doing a Finale. We will be learning this right after Competitions are over. Please continue coming to class consistently so they can participate in the Finale. We only have three weeks to learn it. A note with details will be coming next week.

Jrs & Srs will be doing the Opener together as usual. They will learn this and clean it in about 4 classes. Same rules apply: If you miss class you will not be in it. Unless we know about it WAY before.

Xpress will be doing Closer. Same rules apply as above.

***California:
The money for your hotel rooms is due Wednesday, April 23rd 2009. The total money that's due is $144.00 because of the Car Wash earnings it went down a bit.

It is suppose to be bad weather....but we will still be having the car wash. Hope and pray that the weather goes better. The girls have been planning this for some time and we don't want to let them down. Please come support them. :)

Easter Week Class Update & Car Wash Info

The first competition went spectacular! Great job all teams, you looked amazing! Tiny's got Best Costume, Jrs got Best Technique award for Crazy Town, Srs got Best Technique for Metro, Batucada got High Point for the Advanced Division, Missy Mix got High Point for Novice Division and Colette's won several 1st and 2nd Place Rankings!!!!

Clarification for Easter week classes.
****All teams will have classes the ENTIRE week EVEN Thursday, April 9th 2009. This is because you will NOT have class the following week, Thursday, April 16th 2009 due to team girls leaving for St. George. You can't miss that many hours of class in one month so that's the only way it will work. Since we do have competition the week after Easter and no class that Thursday PLEASE come to class Easter week so we can practice and keep looking great.
****Combo Classes will NOT have class Thursday, April 9th 2009. So if you are on a team BUT in a tumbling class, you will not have tumbling but STILL team class.
****Everyone has class Monday, April 13th.

CALIFORNIA CAR WASH
Xpress (the oldest team) has the opportunity to go to California in June. While they are in California they will be taking dance classes in LA with professional choreographers!!!! Its really exciting for them but also a lot of work. They have been working to earn the money them selves! Since October, they have been working on earning money to be able to go on this trip. Now the trip is approaching quickly and they have lots of money to still earn.

Saturday, April 11th 2009, Xpress will be having a Car Wash to raise money. The Car Wash will be held at Checker Auto parking lot on 7800 S. and 3200 W. in West Jordan. Car Wash will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Please come and support the girls by getting your Car Washed, have a drink or just hang out!

Xpress California Girls****
**Arrive to car wash location by 8:00a.m. to set everything up.

**Please sale your tickets by Friday, April 10th. Bring your ticket stubs with how much you sold them for on the back and in your envelope. Please have a paper in your envelope letting me know how many you sold and how much you made total.

**Each girl needs to bring 2 towels and 1 poster (already made and ready to go.)

**Please wear CDS colors or fan t-shirts. Purple or green and whatever shorts, jeans, pants etc.

**Hand out flyer's prior and bring some with you to hand to people at stores.

**If you have siblings who would like to come help hold posters or pass out flyer's have them come!

This coming Saturday April 4th a Kearns High School 5525 S. Cougar Lane (4800 W.)

All dances will be in the Auditorium. Dancers must have their ticket to get in or you will have to pay. The following is the arrival time for each team. That means you must arrive at Kearns at the following time, with full make-up and hair.

X-1: Wild One - 8:20 a.m.
Tiny's: These Boots - 8:40 a.m.
X-2: Disco Fever - 8:45 a.m.
Jrs: Rockstar - 9:10 a.m
Pee-Wee's: Chicken Noodle Soup - 9:40 a.m.
X-4: Constant - 1:10 p.m.
Xtremes: Missy Mix - 1:45 p.m.
X-3: You Raise Me Up - 11:20 a.m.
Xpress: Invasion - 12:30 p.m.

Older teams who have several dances are not allowed to leave. If you want food please have your parents bring it to you. Sometimes the competitions can go quickly and you don't want to miss you dance. Please be there for awards for the younger teams to help support them.

Some Competition Reminders*****
Label all your things and keep them in YOUR bag.

Please have your rhinestone headbands secured in you hair!!!

Have all costume pieces on you tightly and safety pin things if needed.

If you are late for arrival or meet times at performances you will have to buy your entire team a treat.

If your costume pieces or accessories are lost, stolen or any of the above you will be charged a $5.00 fee, plus the cost of the item.

Competition Spirit****
All CDS parents try to sit together. Find others to sit and cheer the girls on with. The closer you sit together the louder our crowd will be and the more exciting it is for the girls. Please invite all your friends and family!!!

TEE-SHIRT and BAG ORDERS****
Amber is now giving people until Thursday, April 2nd to order Tee-Shirts and Bags. The bags are really nice! The Tee-Shirts are great for competition. They run small so order big or you can get the regular tee-shirt style. Please get these in ASAP!
